About the event
Karen Finneyfrock is an accomplished author of two young adult novels: The Sweet Revenge of Celia Door and Starbird Murphy and the World Outside. Both titles were published by Viking Children’s Books and selected for the Junior Library Guild Awards. Additionally, she serves as an editor for the poetry collection Courage: Daring Poems for Gutsy Girls and is the author of Ceremony for the Choking Ghost, both published by Write Bloody Publishing.
Karen has been a member of four National Poetry Slam Teams and has hosted and curated the Seattle Poetry Slam for four years. She has toured both nationally and internationally as a performance poet and has served as a Cultural Ambassador for the U.S. Department of State.
